Clothed Figure II

Here are some sketches from my adventure today!

I must say that when I woke up this morning I was a little apprehensive about drawing in the studio again. I haven’t taken Clothed Figure (or many studio classes for that matter) since last fall. Things that I discovered: I am resilient and drawing, like anything, requires you to get reacquainted with your tools and self a bit.

I sharpened my Conte and went to it; I just jumped in head first to see what would happen. The one thing that I immediately noticed was that I had a little stage fright and looked around and hoped that everyone was in the same boat with me. Yeah, I grimaced a little and I was probably getting a little red in the face, BUT I kept going. I discovered that I could still draw.

I think that every artist, whether you are a newbie or a seasoned professional, we all just have to get on that horse a ride baby! I had a great day and I am excited to see what Ecorche has to offer me as an artist.
